Creating a CD-ROM Catalog Using Flood Fill

The Flood Fill feature of FNO³ enables keywords to be added to multiple file Notes within a folder as described in Using Flood Fill Notes. This feature can also be used to provide a quick method of creating a Catalog of files existing on a CD-ROM (see Removable Catalogs).

Creating the Removable Catalog using Flood Fill Notes

1. Insert the CD-ROM into your PC drive

2. Navigate to your CD-ROM drive using the Folder Pane

3. Click on the Main Toolbar Notes Menu, Click on Create CD ROM Catalog (also see Using Flood Fill Notes)

4. Specify the Search For filter (e.g. *.jpg)

5. Click OK

6. FNO³ will now generate a Removable Catalog using the CD-ROM Volume Label as the name of the Catalog

Viewing the New Catalog

1. Navigate to the Removable Catalog folder in the Notes Catalogs Pane

2. Select the drive letter of your PC CD-ROM drive where the original CD was located

3. Locate and select the Catalog Volume label of the CD-ROM

4. All the files matching the original Flood Fill Notes Search For criteria will be displayed in the File List Pane

  Note

• Enable the Path Column (see Customizing Columns) to view the path of the files on the CD
• The Catalog can be used to locate files even with the CD not being present
