Collections Catalog

Collections enable the gathering together into one virtual folder psuedo shortcuts to folders and files that are distributed across the PC and network drives. These folders, files and notes may be of common topic, file type or category depending upon how you choose to implement the  Collections feature.

Notes

• The contents of Collections can be browsed and filtered as if all the files were within one folder. 

• All folders included in a collection are expanded flat, creating one large virtual folder

• Notes can be added to files using the normal procedures for Creating Notes

• Any changes to Notes within a Collection will change the master Catalog for that file. Therefore changes will be seen when browsing the file using the folder file list pane

• Column Titles (see Customizing Columns) are saved against Collections

Typical Collections could be as follows:

Projects
Sales Opportunities
Picture groupings
Zip file folder temporary store
Midi file collections
MP3 collections

Note

• A list of folders containing Notes Catalogs are stored in a default Collection called All Notes
