Saving Columns Templates

A Column Template is a template containing the layout of the File List Pane and includes the visible columns and columns titles

Columns templates can be saved as a global template or only to apply to the current folder..

These two ways of saving Columns templates are performed from the column right click menu described in Customizing Columns.

Save Columns as Template

Save Columns as Template will save the current Columns details as a global template.

Columns Templates can be selected from the Columns Template Menu or Tools Toolbar (see Selecting a Column Template)

Save Columns in Folder

Save Columns in Folder will save the current Columns view details into a file called ctemplate.fnt that resides in the local folder

The ctemplate.fnt file can be used as a 'mobile template'. By copying the ctemplate.fnt file to other folders those folders will take on the Columns characteristics saved in the ctemplate.fnt file. When zipping folder contents for use by other FNO³ users including the ctemplate.fnt file will enable those other FNO³ users to adopt the same columns characteristics as the folder from which the file originated.
